Ground Engineering Consultants has opened an office in Gypsum to serve the firm's clients in Aspen, Basalt, Rifle, Glenwood Springs and the Eagle-Vail Valley area.

Ground Engineering Opens New Office in Western Colorado

Ground Engineering Consultants has opened a western Colorado office to serve the firm's clients in Aspen, Basalt, Rifle, Glenwood Springs and the Eagle-Vail Valley area.

GE Johnson Awarded Phase 3 of the Village at Northstar Project

East West Partners has awarded Phase III of the Village at Northstar to GE Johnson Construction Co.

Construction on the project - designed by OZ Architecture - began in early May; it's scheduled for completion by November 2006.

The current value of Phase 3 is $97.6 million, bringing the total of all phases of the Northstar project up to $203.8 million. The new buildings will be LEED certified.


Merrick & Co. Chooses Colorado Art & Frame for Company Contract

Merrick & Co., among the largest engineering firms based in the Denver area, has selected Colorado Art & Frame, an Aurora art gallery and custom frame studio, to upgrade project displays in its newly renovated office building.

The firms collaborated to select a corporate standard for custom framing of architectural renderings, project photos and other documents important to the company image.


H+L Architecture Announces New Projects in Denver and Boulder

H+L Architecture has been awarded the new Veterans Administration Hospital at Fitzsimons, the $26 million Chatfield High School addition and renovation project in Littleton and the $25 million Ball Aerospace expansion project in Boulder.


Vine Laboratories Earns DBE/SBE Certification

Vine Laboratories Inc., founded in 2003, recently received its DBE/SBE certification.

The move was designed to help the firm compete for upcoming work with the city and county of Denver, Colorado Department of Transportation and FasTracks, said President Amy Suedkamp.

Vine is also ESB, WBE and SBE certified with the Regional Transportation District and prequalified with CDOT.


Gallagher Industries Buys Ankmar Door

Gallagher Industries LLC, a leading private equity firm based in Denver, has acquired Ankmar Door Inc. and its affiliates, Ankmar Manufacturing and Linmar Industries.

Renamed Ankmar LLC, it joins the Gallagher Industries portfolio of companies, which are involved in a variety of industries, including plastic packaging, building products and soil amendments.


Guarantee Merges with Cache Valley Electric in Denver

Guarantee Electrical Contracting of Denver has merged with the Denver office of Cache Valley Electric. Terms of the merger, which closed in June, were not disclosed.

Opened in 1998, Cache Valley Electric's Denver office provides services primarily as part of its tele-data division, installing and servicing high-speed cable and fiber optic cabling for data and voice networks. The group is design-build certified and an authorized factory installer for numerous manufacturers.

CVE, whose Colorado clients include Gates Corp., McData Corp., AmGen, Sun Microsystems, T-Mobile and Kaiser Permanente, will now operate as Guarantee Electrical Contracting; all key field personnel will be retained.


Riviera Electric Donates Time and Equipment to Vietnam Memorial

Riviera Electric has donated time and equipment to reconstruct The Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial, on display for one week in June at Wamsley Elementary School in Rifle.

Riviera Electric donated the use of PDUs (GFI-protected power distribution units), turtles (portable outlet systems), stadium lighting, cords, as well as manpower to setup the equipment for the week-long event.

Volunteers include Tom Sullivan, Tom Suits, Paul Russell, Brian Doyle, Josh Caudill, Tom Skeith and Tim Klima, Morgan Klima and Logan Klima from the Riviera mountain office in Gypsum. Valley Electric Supply donated the materials.


PSI Relocates Local Office from Wheat Ridge to Westminster

PSI has relocated its Wheat Ridge office - which it had occupied for more than 40 years - to a new 20,000-sq-ft office space located at 451 E. 124th Ave., Thornton.

The move was made to reflect the firm's growing presence in the Colorado area. Current projects include the Banning Lewis Ranch in Colorado Springs, I-70/E-470 Interchange Complex Phase I Flyby and on-call testing services for Denver.


Nolte Embraces Green Building at New Location

Nolte Associates Inc. Engineering has moved into a 17,000-sq-ft office in Centennial that reflects the firm's commitment to sustainability.

The firm's new energy efficient office is at 8000 S. Chester Street, Suite 200.

Throughout 2004-2005, Nolte has moved or converted nine of its 12 offices to more employee-friendly space, including facilities where 90 percent of the offices have a direct view to a window, plus suspended indirect lighting, VOC-free products, recycled carpets, Green Guard-certified furniture, sound-masking systems to eliminate background noise, rubber and cork floorings and color schemes that add visual diversity to the space rather than a single color scheme.


MWH Acquires Integrated Project Solutions to Enhance Portfolio

MWH, a global consulting firm that specializes in engineering projects for environmental, land, water, wastewater, energy and power markets, has acquired Bellevue, Wash.-based Integrated Project Solutions (iProj), a project management and software company that serves clients in a range of industries from public works to telecommunications.

The 25 former iProj employees will work out of MWH's Bellevue office, enabling project teams to consolidate their schedules, coordinate tasks and manage projects more efficiently. The addition of iProj to MWH's client service portfolio is designed to allow utility and government clients to better manage performance of capital engineering, construction, maintenance and IT projects.


Laramie County School District No. 1 Selects Lantz-Boggio

Laramie County School District No. 1 has selected Lantz-Boggio Architects, in association with Pappas and Pappas Architects and Perkins+Will, to design the new prototype elementary schools for Deming and Miller Elementary School and Rossman Elementary School, as well as the addition and replacement of Baggs Elementary School.


Hellman & Associates Announces Annual Service Contracts

Hellman & Associates has signed annual service contracts with ConMed, AG Machinery and Protogenics.

The contracts will provide each company with services to ensure they are fully compliant with OSHA regulations.


Saunders' Tenant Improvement Group Announces New Contracts

The tenant improvement group at Saunders Construction Inc. has been awarded projects for McData Corp., Archstone Smith and Ptarmigan.

At McData, the group will provide construction management and general contracting services for a 168,000-sq-ft project located at The Views campus in Broomfield.

The Archstone Smith work - Saunders' fourth collaboration with that company since 2002 - includes a 20,000-sq-ft, two-floor renovation and remodel project in an occupied facility.

The Ptarmigan project involves the complete renovation of the Denver Tech Center building's lobby, which will be completed in two phases in order to maintain business operations at the facility.
