McLaughlin Rincon Ltd. Formed
McLaughlin Rincon Ltd. has announced the formation of the
firm and the opening of its new office at Riverpoint in Denver.
Practicing civil environmental engineering, the firm offers
comprehensive water resources engineering, design and consulting
services to federal, state and municipal entities, as well
as private companies.
Areas of expertise include water and wastewater treatment;
hydraulics and hydrology; drainage and flood control; stream
restoration; multi-use recreation engineering; diversions
and intakes; whitewater course design and architecture; water
distribution; storage; and wastewater collection. McLaughlin
Rincon offers complete engineering and project management
from master planning through final design and construction
operations assistance. Utility rate studies and financial
planning are also available.
The firm's principals currently include Aaron Asquith, Melanie
Asquith, Jamie Cribbs, Dean Derosier, Ronald Dvorak, Terrence

Haley & Aldrich Spins Off
Denver Operations to Lyman Henn Inc.
Boston-based Haley & Aldrich has made a business decision
to spin off its Denver operations to its current Denver-based
shareholder group. The new company - Lyman Henn Inc. - is
owned and managed by Principals Tracy Lyman and Ray Henn,
and Associates Steve Kuehr and Peggy Ganse. They have nine
additional staff as well.
The transfer occurred on March 15, 2003. As a result, Lyman
Henn has assumed all Denver-based contract work previously
performed by Haley & Aldrich. The two firms anticipate
ongoing collaborative efforts to continue to serve their clients.
Lyman Henn will concentrate on geotechnical, tunneling and
construction services and continue to build on more than 15
years of continuous practice from the Denver location.
CMC Acquires Denver Location
of Symons Corp.
Commercial Metals Co., headquartered in Irving, Texas, has
announced the acquisition of substantially all of the operating
assets of the Denver location of Symons Corp., a concrete
formwork supplier servicing construction needs throughout
the Rocky Mountain states.
The business will be a part of CMC's construction-related
products division, comprised of 28 operations in the southeastern
and southwestern United States. The CRP division is headquartered
at Houston-based Shepler's, which is managed by John Richey.
Established in 1965, the Denver branch has become a flagship
operation for Symons' network of sales and rental outlets.
In the near term, the facility will operate as Symons-Shepler's.
Mark Starek has been named the branch manager.
Commercial Metals Co. and its subsidiaries manufacture,
recycle and market steel and metal products, related materials
and services through a network of more than 130 locations.
Nationally Known Architectural
Firm Announces Change
Urban Design Group Inc., an architectural firm with offices
in four U.S. cities, has announced that it will concentrate
its practice from its studios in Dallas and Atlanta.
Also, Peter Dominick - who merged his own Denver firm with
Urban Design Group in 1988 - along with E. Randal Johnson
and Thomas R. Brauer have decided to leave Urban Design Group
to form a new architectural practice - 42/40 Architecture
Inc. - in Denver and Chicago. Dominick and Johnson are located
in Denver, and Brauer will operate the Chicago office of the
new company. 42/40 began operations May 1, 2003.
John Novack - who founded Urban Design Group in 1974 - will
continue with Urban Design Group along with three other founding
principals - Donald Buenger, Ray Kahl and Ron Armstrong. Buenger
will continue overseeing the Atlanta studio with Novack, Armstrong
and Kahl operating the Dallas studio.
Both firms will continue working in the areas Urban Design
has specialized in, ranging from retail to residential, hotel
to high-rise buildings and resorts to research.
