The $150-million development, a “Type A” continuing-care retirement community, is the first of its kind in Colorado. The 23.5-acre community has 252 independent living residences. The Care Center, which will open in 2009, has 16 suites for assisted living, 12 suites for Alzheimer’s/memory support and 24 suites for skilled nursing care services available onsite to residents.

Older adults will enjoy views of Mt. Evans and close proximity to two medical centers, the airport, the mountains and more than 60 mi of walking trails for outdoor enthusiasts. Resident homes range from 1,107 to 1869 sq ft, with entrance fees for the community ranging from $275,000 to $750,000.

Building on the company’s hospitality heritage and its 20 years of industry experience, Classic Residence by Hyatt in Highlands Ranch will boast a full range of services and amenities for residents, including a 24-hour concierge service, a fully equipped fitness center, executive chef-prepared meals and many social, educational and cultural opportunities. The community is nearly 80% reserved with some floor plans completely reserved. Current residents of Classic Residence by Hyatt in Highlands Ranch come from 21 different states although the majority comes from Colorado.

The developer, Shea Homes, and general contractor Saunders Construction, as well as all of the engineers, are Colorado-based firms. The architect is Chicago-based Solomon Coldwell Buenz.
